Working in a leadership position for a rig owner Douglas observed major shortcomings compromising the assets’ performance and crew safety.
He felt a duty to challenge the status quo to ensure real assurance was given. Most importantly protecting the safety of the crew, whilst improving the efficiency and environmental performance of the asset.
We have grown to a team of over 60 with offices in Aberdeen (HQ), Houston, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. However, Douglas’ founding vision remains at the heart of what we do. Above all it is what drives us to apply our knowledge and experience to support the energy transition.
Whether applied to rigs used in Oil and Gas, Geothermal or CCUS, or WTIVs to build wind farms of the future, we are committed to ensuring these assets operate safely and efficiently with minimal environmental impact. In short our independent audits and inspections make this a reality.
But most importantly our independence ensures that you can rely on our impartiality and objectivity throughout the inspection process.
“I started the company to make a real difference within the industry, I’m extremely proud of what we have achieved since those early days and we continue to grow as a team.”
Douglas Hay, Managing Director
Technical excellence, diversity of ideas, leadership and team work are at the forefront of our approach.
Our management team each have decades worth of experience leading, investing in and developing our team of subject matter experts. Consequently, many of the team have been with the company for over 10 years and are incredibly passionate about what we do.
“We place an importance on selecting people who not only excel technically but can also build relationships and work collaboratively with the rig or vessel owner project team, shipyard personnel and end user. From our experience this ensures the most value is gained from our inspection for all project stakeholders.”
Austin Hay, Director
We believe in supporting our local communities and every year, we pick a charitable organisation to support through donations and volunteering.
Befriend a Child is a local Aberdeen charity that began in 1975 and since then, their provision of programmes and projects has grown supporting 1000’s of local children and young people through their 1:1 befriending, mentoring and group programmes and projects.
Each year Befriend a Child support over 245 children and their families, and work with over 270 volunteers, however, there is an increasing demand for their services which is evidenced by their growing waiting list.
They are committed to delivering excellence to the children, families and volunteers they support. They rely on grants, donations, community and corporate funding to support their befriending, mentoring and family support projects.
We are delighted to have your support going forward and to be working with such an enthusiastic organisation.
Katie Kyle, Head of Fundraising & Marketing
