ADC recognise that the drilling rig is more often than not the largest project cost item for our clients, both in terms of daily cost when operating and more importantly, when it is not. The risks of un-planned downtime or unexpected safety issues can be significantly reduced by proactively identifying risks through systematic rig inspection.
Our belief is that such an investment should be evaluated to the highest possible standard given the potential financial risks and commercial exposure rig downtime can present. ADC’s rig intake process is held in high regard by regulatory bodies and used as a benchmark against which other companies / processes are reviewed.
By attending rig intake meetings between our Operator clients and regulators, ADC continually refines work scopes and processes to provide regulators with the evidence they are looking for to meet compliance standards.
ADC integrate with auditee rig crews and management, aligning objectives and using our expertise and experience to help solve problems as efficiently as possible.
ADC can create a Rig Acceptance document tailored to each project which clearly outlines the expectations during the inspection to ensure all parties understand and are on-board with the process.
Analysing our inspection data from the past 15 years to identify common problem areas across rig types, Drilling Contractors, OEMs and locations allows us to use this information to ensure known high risk areas are targeted.
All non-conformances raised by ADC reference applicable standards such as API – an approach that is commended by both our Operator clients and the Drilling Contractors we audit. ADC actively avoid “opinion-based” inspection, which is common place in the industry, as it can lead to confusion and an inefficient inspection process.
