ADC will offer all successful personnel an SQA Customised Qualification in Understanding Rig Inspection, a structured programme of IADC DIT training courses covering rig inspection principles, drilling equipment, well control and dropped objects prevention.

ADC will provide training on our bespoke online reporting system (TRAMS) for audit planning and non-conformance management.

ADC has a Lead Auditor training programme that is designed to support the development of all team members who have been identified as capable to assume the role of Lead Auditor through our internal assessor and verifier competency management system.


The Principal Mechanical Specialist is responsible through ADC, to conduct land drilling rig and mechanical equipment condition audits in accordance with ISO 19011 Guidelines for Management System Audits. This role is principally based in the USA but may necessitate travel worldwide.

In the act of doing this the Principal Mechanical Specialist is to provide the Client with a valid assessment and report on the availability, reliability and fitness-for-purpose of all mechanical equipment and systems relating to the control of rig power, drilling, hoisting and safety critical equipment including surface Blowout Preventer.

Furthermore, they may be required to provide specialist advice, operational support or training material to clients upon request. Particular interest will be extended to candidates who beyond their strong foundation in mechanical equipment and systems can demonstrate experience and training in regards to automated equipment control.

It is expected that the Principal Mechanical Specialist is familiar with applicable and relevant standards and specifications in regards to compliance with API, ISO, NFPA, OSHA, IADC, OEM and state specific requirements.

The Principal Specialist should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and fully computer literate; examples of technical reports previously prepared by any candidates will be requested as part of the selection process.

Those with a qualification in regards to Lead Auditor are preferred.


The Principal Electrical Specialist is responsible through ADC, to conduct land drilling rig and electrical equipment condition audits in accordance with ISO 19011 Guidelines for Management System Audits. This role is based in the USA and will require nationwide and to some extent worldwide travel.

In the act of doing this the Principal Electrical Specialist is to provide the Client with a valid assessment and report on the availability, reliability and fitness-for-purpose of all electrical equipment including power generation, distribution and control. Furthermore, the suitability of equipment in hazardous areas as well as critical safety systems i.e. gas detectors will also be assessed.

Furthermore, they may be required to provide specialist advice, operational support or training material to clients upon request. Particular interest will be extended to candidates who beyond their strong foundation in electrical equipment and systems can demonstrate experience and training in regards to automated equipment control.

It is expected that the Principal Electrical Specialist is familiar with applicable and relevant standards and specifications in regards to compliance with API, NFPA, OSHA, IADC, OEM and state specific requirements. Candidates are expected to be competent in Explosion Proof Equipment (CompEx) and be trained in HV/LV Switchgear.

The Principal Specialist should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and fully computer literate; examples of technical reports previously prepared by any candidates will be requested as part of the selection process.

Those with a qualification in regards to Lead Auditor are preferred.


The Principal Mechanical Specialist is responsible through ADC, to conduct drilling rig equipment condition audits in accordance with ISO 19011 Guidelines for Management System Audits. In the act of doing this the Principal Specialist Mechanical is to provide the Client with a valid assessment and report on the availability, reliability and fit-for-purpose of all mechanical equipment and systems relating to the control of rig power, drilling, hoisting, marine and safety critical (excluding BOP) equipment. Furthermore, they may be required to provide specialist advice, operational support or training material to clients upon request. Particular interest will be extended to candidates who beyond their strong foundation in mechanical equipment and systems can demonstrate experience and training in regards to automated equipment control.

It is expected that the Principal Specialist is familiar with applicable and relevant standards and specifications in regards to compliance with API, IMO, ISO and OEM requirements; although the position would require worldwide travel it would be desirable if particular experience to the regulatory requirements of offshore drilling operations within the UKCS are understood.

The Principal Specialist should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and fully computer literate; examples of technical reports previously prepared by any candidates will be requested as part of the selection process.

Those with a qualification in regards to Lead Auditor are preferred.


The Principal BOP & Well Control Specialist is responsible through ADC, to conduct equipment condition audits of subsea and surface BOP and associated control equipment in accordance with ISO 19011 Guidelines for Management System Audits. These equipment condition audits are conducted during shipyard periods, between wells or between Operator and will require the Principal Specialist to have a strong understanding of associated planning, maintenance and testing routines conducted during these periods. In the act of doing this the Principal Specialist BOP is to provide the Client with a valid assessment and report on the availability, reliability and fit-for-purpose of all BOP and controls equipment and systems. Furthermore, they may be required to provide specialist advice, operational support or training material to clients upon request. Particular interest will be extended to candidates who beyond their strong foundation in the BOP hardware can demonstrate experience and training in regards to automated equipment control.

It is expected that the Principal Specialist is familiar with applicable and relevant standards and specifications in regards to compliance with API Std 53, 16AR, Spec 6A, 16A, 16C, 16D, 20E and 20F; although the position would require worldwide travel it would be desirable if particular experience to the regulatory requirements of offshore drilling operations within the UKCS are understood.

The Principal Specialist should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and fully computer literate; examples of technical reports previously prepared by any candidates will be requested as part of the selection process.

A current IWCF level 2 (or equivalent) certificate will be required with a qualification in regards to Lead Auditor preferred.
