Douglas started his Energy career at the inception of the UK Oil and Gas Industry in late 1960s, progressing to Senior positions for both Rig Contractors and Operators. In 1985 he founded ADC driven by a vision to make the offshore industry safer, cleaner and more efficient.
Working in a Leadership position for a major Rig Owner, Douglas observed major gaps in the assurance audits being delivered at the time that he felt compromised rig and vessel performance and the safety of the crew.
He felt a duty to challenge the status quo to ensure real assurance was given and that these assets would function efficiently as designed, with environmental integrity, and that people would be kept safe.
Over 35 years later, Douglas’ vision is still the driving force behind all we do at ADC as we evolve through embracing cutting-edge technologies, new ways of working and continuing to learn from other high performance branches of engineering.
