Sandy West is ADC Energy’s group Engineering Manager based in ADC’s HQ located in Aberdeen, Scotland.
He studied mechanical engineering and has since amassed nearly 30 years in the oil and gas sector; beginning his career in equipment design, he then served for a period in Project Engineering then Management with a number of OEM’s of drilling equipment.
Since joining ADC Energy in 2006 he initially fulfilled the role of Principal Specialist in mechanical and drilling equipment, conducting rig inspections worldwide on a variety of drilling unit designs. From 2008, he was promoted to the position of Engineering Manager with ADC; he now assumes first-hand responsibility for the delivery of ADC Energy’s rig inspections and manages a global team of subject matter experts encompassing the disciplines of Rig, BOP, Integrated Controls and HSE. Throughout his time with ADC he has held strong links with API and is accredited to their ICP programme.
Away from his professional career Sandy can be regularly seen either running or cycling the local roads and paths local to his home south of Aberdeen – his greatest achievement completing the Glencoe Mountain Marathon in 2016.
